In this edition of Pals I Am Proud Of I present to you Nick Weidenfeld. An old friend who made good. He worked really hard behind the scenes at his job at Adult Swim for well over a year to make his new project ready for the world. And here it is….

FREAKNIK – the- MUSICAL

Turn that shit it up, indeed. My pal Nick co-created, co-wrote and co-executive produced this baby and I wish him well. This is his first-quarter-life’s magnum opus. If T-pain and Lil Wayne aren’t part of your magnum opus then you need to take that shit back to the drawing board.

When I asked Nick what this show means, he told me that it will mark ‘the de-Cam’ron of the hip hop nation.’ Now we all love Killa Season and we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions but when asked what his favorite thing before Freaknik The Musical was he cooly responded ‘The Wiz.’ Now my expectations for this show are all through the roof.

Jerry Lee Lewis Touched My Organ

I went on a photo shoot with my good friend Jamie-James Medina who was shooting Rock and Roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis. When Jamie-James asked me if I had any ideas for a shoot with a legend in another hotel room, I suggested that since Jerry Lee has been traveling out of a suitcase for most of his adult life that a good prop might be my vintage piano-in-a-suitcase that I have been tinkering around on for a few years. It is quite an impressive feat considering that he produced each shoot himself and dispite having little geographic knowledge of the United States (being an Englishman and all) he successfully traversed the US by himself to get the project accomplished. This is a very special ‘Pals I’m Proud Of’ post. My pal, and fellow photographer, Wyatt Gallery has found himself in the middle of a media shit storm. He is the ‘unnamed photographer’ that was the third in the ménage á trois sex tape that was reportedly with him, Ms. Trinidad and Ms. Japan. Or as it is called down there ‘the Trinidadian trifecta.’ (early reports that it was Ms. Japan were erroneous however)

According to Wyatt, the tape was made in 2007 and was stolen from his computer this October when he sent it in to be serviced in Trinidad.

The story and the video hit TMZ on Tuesday and Jay Leno by Wednesday

So what! He made a sex tape. Who hasn’t made a sex tape with two women who are Ms. Universe material? I’m talking to you Carrie Prejean. Step your game up.

This is my first Pals I Am Proud Of post. I am especially proud to announce that, my pal, Peter Yang received the MAGAZINE COVER OF THE YEAR from A.S.M.E (American Society of Magazine Editors)

In my estimation, this was by far the best cover of Rolling Stone’s in years. It is the ‘perfect storm’ of magazine covers. A great subject, a man caught at a pivotal moment in his life, shot at the decisive moment. (the fact that there are no cover lines don’t hurt either.. check my post earlier about Troy Donahue) Four Stars Peter. Congratulations!
