1980Snore proves once again to be ahead of the talent search curve in this country. I am like an old Ed McMahon after his Johnny Carson prime and into his Star Search waning years. I randomly met a girl in October 2008 when I was rolling with rapper DMX in Miami’s South Beach, when she took liberties and asked rapper DMX if she could have a bite of his steak and beans. Being a gentleman, and a total pushover, rapper DMX relented and they became fast oddball friends. This girl said she was a singer and invited rapper DMX to her studio.
The girl’s name was Janell Wheeler and she appeared on American Idol last night and guess what? She’s going to Hollywood, Dawg!
In this first video we get to see ‘the meet up.’ I give her three and three quarter stars for her bold moves and charm. But in the second video she lets rapper DMX upstage her. She barely comes through and she quite literally takes a back seat to her co-star. I give that performance one and a quarter stars. Her American Idol clip at the end. You can do it Janell Wheeler! Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the food of the stars.
