As I was waking up this morning it occurred to me that the symbol for Pi is very similar to the Jewish symbol Chai which means life, as in le chaim – to life. They sound kind of similar too pi, chi. Are there any Jewish scholars or mathematicians out there who can help explain this apparent coincidence? Because if they can not, I am going to go off half cocked and try and drag in the shape of Stonehenge and the fact that Elvis wore a Chai symbol around his neck for some reason into this and I will make a right good mess of things.

In Jewish numerology, the Hebrew word Chai is equal to the number 18. Add the digits 1+8 and you get 9.
In English, we don’t have a similar numerology. But the word Chai in English has four letters, so we can look at the first four digits of Pi which are 3.141. And if you add 3+1+4+1 you get 9 again.
9+9 equals 18. Chai.
Woah.
