The band Rage Against The Machine has become less and less potent over the last 10 years, but here is proof that they still live up to their name. Presently in the UK, the band’s 1993 hit “Killing In The Name Of” is surging in the charts and has hit the #2 spot. This is because of a grassroots effort to get a syrupy sweet Christmas song off the chart that has been there the past 4 Christmas’. And what better song to say ‘fuck you’ than an actual song that says ‘fuck you’ at the end of the song. Over and over again.
The end of the song, for those who are unfamiliar with it ends in a frenzied chorus of “fuck you. I won’t do what you tell me!” So, the band was asked to do a live version for a UK radio station and the censors at the station told them not to use ‘fuck’ when singing. What do you think happened?
