The Correct Answer Is ‘Moops’

This bubble balloon boy situation has hit critical mass.  ’Save Balloon Boy’ t-shirts are on sale and some sort of rigged Jiffy-Pop outfit will undoubtably be the de riguere halloween costume of the season.

But what filled this balloon was far more insidious than helium, it was filled with the a father’s addiction: an addiction to the spotlight.  This fool was featured on the ABC show Wife Swap.  For some people, once they get that taste for the spot light, they will do just about anything chase that high. Danny Bonaduce is a perfect example.  He did some shit in the early 70’s and then found a niche as a self destructive, loathsome bore for the next 30 years to stay in the spotlight.  Even people whom fame is thrust upon, like Rodney King, who after taking a savage beating by LA’s finest, went on to lose all his punitive damage money in a failed hip hop record label and most recently won a ‘celebrity’ ‘boxing’ match against a retired cop.  Fame is a seductive whore that will do your coke, sleep with Mic Jagger  and then have an adult consentual affair with her own father for ten years only to stop when she feels its ‘getting romantic.’

This poor balloon boy is caught in his father’s psychosis and it has already taken a toll on him physically.  Watch this clip on Good Morning America where Meredith Vieira makes the BBoy puke.
